Air-conditioning technology

The installation of air conditioning units at the top of large buildings can be impossible for a crane for two reasons: when mounting the equipment on large factory buildings in industrial areas, the crane’s jib is in many cases too short to reach the intended position of the air conditioning unit on the factory roof. When mounting equipment at the top of high-rise buildings or public buildings in city centre locations, there is often simply no space for a crane. Even if a crane operation is theoretically possible, it often causes severe and lengthy traffic delays.

In these situations, a heavy-load crane helicopter is often used to place the bulky air conditioning units on roofs with millimetre precision. A suitable helicopter can lift loads of several tons and can also operate in confined spaces. Any traffic delays or restrictions on plant operations are kept to a minimum. Our crane helicopters can be used for a wide variety of missions, including the dismantling of old equipment, the replacement of individual parts or entire installations and, of course, the assembly of new equipment.

Feasibility check and price indication

During the initial telephone consultation, our flight experts can assess whether the project you are planning can be carried out by a helicopter. From our experience with official approval procedures, we can also determine immediately whether we can obtain all the necessary permits for you by your desired date of deployment. Last but not least, we can give you a fairly precise price estimate at that early stage, taking into account the details you have given us. This initial consultation is completely free of charge.

Planning the operation

We prepare for every flight with meticulous attention to detail. We always select the helicopter that is best suited for the planned operation and assign an experienced team consisting of a pilot and ground crew to your order. We conduct a site visit to obtain an exact picture of the location of the operation and, if required, prepare a risk assessment.

In consultation with you, we will determine suitable helicopter loading sites and possible landing sites. We coordinate every cargo flight with the responsible authorities, obtain all the necessary permits and, if required, also take care of informing the local residents. We will work out a precise schedule for you so that you have a complete overview of the planned flight at all times.

Implementation

On the day of the flight mission, one of our flight experts will be on site in person to ensure the fast and smooth implementation of the operation. We will hold a detailed safety briefing for all persons taking part in the installation operation and will coordinate the work of the contractors involved. In particular, we will monitor the planned transport sequence of all the individual parts and ensure it is adhered to. If road closures are necessary, we will also coordinate these measures and will ensure that the impact on traffic remains minimal.

Upon request, in addition to organising the flight, we are also available as contact persons for the media, as our experience shows that helicopter flights are of great interest to local and regional media. If you would like photos or video documentation of the mission, we can fulfil this request and can make professional recordings for you.
